Opportunity is something that my sister has embedded into my mind. Taking advantage of what I have to its full extent. Learning every bit that I can from whoever I come across. Saying yes to almost everything.

I currently work at Anthropologie in Houston CityCentre, and it has been nothing but an amazing opportunity. My coworkers are so loving, encouraging, and hilarious to be around. I have passed out my business cards to my coworkers and they have passed them on to their family and friends which has been so nice. It is hard to have a job and have to fit in my career, which is photography. I have dedicated Saturdays to shooting and editing and working on every little bit of my business to make it succeed.

I talk about photography and Anthropologie together because I was given the sweetest invitation to be the photographer for the stores fashion show this last month. It was as official as it could get for me, having to get in contact with ‘Home Office’ of Anthropologie, oh ok pat on my back for being an adult for two seconds.

I got to come into work with my camera and shoot the behind the scenes getting ready to the runway and then a little bit of socializing afterwards. It gave me all the nerves I get when I shoot a wedding, all the exciting feelings and the tense back ache from doing all sorts of weird lunging to get best shots. It confirmed that photography is always going to be my number one but it also confirmed that Anthropologie is the best decision I have made all year..this store has become home to me. It is my get away. My mind runs a million miles an hour and this is the one place it truly slows down and I can just be myself. I am so grateful for the women I work with and the opportunities the store keeps giving me to grow.
