Bulike, Uganda

I tried to find the words to truly represent my feelings towards the entire trip to Uganda but found it ridiculously hard and also, very wordy due to the fact that we were busy every second that we were awake.

As a team, our mission was to collect as much information as possible about UCSS and the village of Bulike for future teams. And, we definitely saw as much as we could, took it all in, and I think I can speak for all of us that our hearts are truly overwhelmed. With how little the people have and the conditions that they live in, they showed us so much love and when looking through my photos, rarely looked sad. They were so happy about our presence and were so accepting and loving towards us, we were offered so many mangos and even a couple of chickens!

In short, we visited the primary and secondary school and spent a lot of time with the kids, viewed the farm area and met the leaders of the community, had a bible study with the adults, went to a clinic that doctors from Kampala come to the villages and diagnose and treat the people as best they can, met so many wonderful people along the way, viewed many boreholes and even fixed one, met the women of the community who create jewelry and sell it for their families income and bought all of it, and eventually, had a some leisure time to hike and take in the entire week God provided for us. UCSS is doing huge things for this village and I cannot wait to see them change lives not only in Bulike but in other villages, too.

If you would like to hear in depth about my experience, let’s get coffee and talk! But, of course...here are some photos (this is truly very minimal compared to how many I took).
